Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an option to try coaching out to see if it’s for me?

Yes! Check out our 1 month introductory offer to see if we’re a good fit. We can also answer any questions you may have during a discovery call. Schedule a 30 minute discovery call to personally go over potential barriers to entry.

Is Apricus a psychedelic coaching company?

Yes and no. We are well versed in using psychedelics as tools to generate insight and change in our lives, and we can absolutely help prepare you for ceremonies and journeys with plant medicine. But if you are not interested in psychedelics, they will not be a part of your coaching blueprint whatsoever!

Do you offer business coaching?

Whether you have an established business you’re trying to scale or it’s still just an idea in your head, we can absolutely help you create and implement a business plan for growth. Our founder is experienced with the entire life cycle of LLCs and 501(c)(3)s, to include their establishment, operation, scaling, and the process of selling them successfully. Schedule a 30 minute discovery call to personally go over potential barriers to entry.

Do you offer group or couples coaching?

This can be done on a case by case basis, but requires a discovery call first to see if it is a good fit.

Can families share coaching sessions?

Yes! Families can share the sessions from packages that are purchased, but nothing will be discussed with family members regarding what happened in another family member’s personal session.

What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

Coaching and counseling serve different purposes and operate under distinct frameworks. Coaching is not regulated by legislation and does not require a license. It is a holistic, direct-experience-based practice that forms an equal partnership between coach and client.

The focus is on setting goals, addressing weaknesses and roadblocks, mapping out a path forward, and using adaptive tools to help clients incorporate the gentle discipline required to reach the next level in life on their terms. Coaching is focused on the here and now, with an emphasis on personal growth and accountability in order to achieve desired outcomes in each of the four pillars of Apricus.

In contrast, professional counseling is regulated by legislation, requires a license, and follows strict rules and guidelines. Counselors have formal training in psychology and can take on a more authoritative role, using medical manuals and clinical regulatory works to diagnose and treat patients.

Do you employ licensed therapists?

No, at this point in time, Apricus does not employ licensed therapists but that may change in the future.

What is the recommended coaching frequency?

We usually start coaching more frequently with one to two sessions per week and then we gradually begin to space out our sessions more once we are on the right track. Ideally, we move to monthly or bi-monthly sessions to address particular concerns or conduct ‘vector checks’ that confirm progress, reveal blindspots, or provide additional clarity when needed.

Can I just have an Ancestral Campfire Community membership or do I have to do coaching as well?

You can choose to just be a part of our Ancestral Campfire Community, which is also included in all coaching packages.

What does the Ancestral Campfire Community really do?

This is a members only portion of our site that meets as a group weekly on a volunteer basis and discusses the four pillars of Apricus on a rotating schedule. There are guest speakers, lectures, peer support forums, a book nook for suggested readings and discussions, as well as dedicated resource pages for all members.

What People Are Saying...

{The remarkable thing is, I feel stronger and fitter physically, mentally and emotionally at 51 than when I was at 31. I feel more in control over my depression and anxiety than those two negative energies having control over me. But the ultimate gift Rich gave me was a two-fold one: a stronger, healthier me and a stronger, healthier marriage. He took on both my husband and me as individual clients. I cannot emphasize enough how much this has enhanced my relationship with my husband. Between Rich’s individually customized fitness plans and one-on-one sessions with him, it helped us, as individuals, get back into shape, better regulate emotions and be more self-aware. As a result, the work elevated us as a couple. We communicate better, we hold each other’s spaces better, and we love each other better.

{Rich will go out of his way to make sure you have everything you need to succeed and reach your goals. The family vibe is strong and supportive. He's gone above and beyond in every possible way, even creating a specifically built home program based on my needs and equipment while in another state.

{This place saved my life. Owe it all to Rich thank you for everything, brother. God Bless.

{The difference between Rich and other coaches I’ve had is that Rich saw me for who I could be, before I could begin to imagine that person. The woman he saw was one that would go on and break a national deadlifting record. When I broke that record I remember turning to Rich with surprise and all he said was “I knew you would.” From this moment on, I too began to believe in myself and my confidence in life has grown.

{My experience with Richard led to the best years I have ever had. When I first met Richard I had a bad back, always in pain, and had a chiropractor I saw every week. I was skinny and didn't have much confidence, and for me the gym was the last place I ever thought I would love. With his help and encouragement I can say I am a better man. I don't go to the chiropractor anymore, I am almost 200 lbs, and also competed in a strong man competition and you can't do that without confidence. Thank you!!!

{Rich’s approach has been incredibly supportive and understanding, particularly of my desire to use physical fitness as a tool for improving my mental health. He’s provided valuable guidance on breathing techniques, helped me seamlessly integrate workouts into my daily routine, and most importantly, alleviated the guilt I used to feel about taking time for myself. I can’t speak highly enough of Rich as a coach. I genuinely look forward to our sessions and the insights I gain each week.

{Rich totally recognized my personal challenges and coached me through those challenges. Rich would zoom with me weekly until I was ready to graduate to monthly zooms. We used one on one coaching & video chats to guarantee proper technique. Training the mind & body together has proved to be a successful formula for me.

{Since the day I met Rich I knew he was a man who cares deeply for his brothers and sisters in the veteran community. He not only opened up his gym to me and others and provided a safe space for us to train and share our weekly victories and losses but Rich has also become my coach, mentor and friend in less than 2 years. He's helped shape me into the man I felt I had lost when my uniform came off and when I separated from the Army. He has shared with me a wealth of knowledge that I can now carry and implement into my everyday life to continue to be a bigger, faster and stronger version of myself both physically and mentally. I owe a debt of gratitude and appreciation for the time and energy Rich put into my 6 months of fitness and nutrition programming. As an athlete I want my coaches to look like my goals (healthy and fit) and Rich fits that mold perfectly.
